Summer time is here, kind of

Since it's been getting pretty toasty outside lately, we decided to pull out the 'ol blow up pool from Hailey's birthday last year.  This was the second time we filled it up for her.  The first time she just wanted to splash her hands in it from outside of the pool.  This time she was brave enough to go in.  Decker rather enjoyed it as well.
This is Hailey telling Decker to "go away".  He kept sticking his head in the pool and nabbing her toys.

Being silly

At the beginning of May, along with my sister-in-laws, I threw a shower for our neice.  Well Danielle, my sister-in-law, had painted a bunch of old school clothes pins, (the kind that would just hang over the line, not clip to it) thinking we might be able to use them for a game.  Unfortunately they didn't really work but they sure were fun for Hailey to play with.

I'm not sure who made them into a snazzy belt for her but she was proud of it.

Easter

After Hailey woke up from her nap on Saturday we decided to head to his parents house which is about 30-45 mins South East from us.  We decided to stay the night so we could spend Easter with them the next day.  As it turns out Hailey took a turn for the worst.  She was running almost a 102 fever and was throwing up.  Bless her little heart.  But what better place to be than with Mommy, Daddy AND Memaw and Papa.  She got lots of extra snuggles.

On Sunday morning we decided we probably shouldn't to anything since Hailey was still feeling icky.  Thankfully the Easter bunny found us at Memaw and Papa's though, sans pants (for Hailey that is).

Reaching for her very first Pez dispenser.
We didn't really get to hunt anymore Easter eggs either since she wasn't feeling well but once we got home she had a blast dumping them in and out of her basket.

Easter egg hunt

Hailey felt a little better on Saturday morning so we decided to attend the neighborhood Easter egg hunt held at the park.  The park is literally across the street from our house, about 3 houses down.  There were a ton of kids and Easter eggs.

The HOA put the hunt on and even had someone dress up like a bunny rabbit.  He was a good sport but I don't think he realized what the kids reaction would be.  They swarmed him!!  The hunt started late because all the kids wanted their picture with the Easter bunny.  Hailey could have cared less about him which I had no problem with.  One less line I have to stand it.

Stephen's birthday

Stephen's birthday was Easter weekend.  We were suppose to go camping but little miss started to not feel very well.  So we celebrated his birthday at home with cheesecake. Yum.

Hailey helping to blow out the candles before bedtime.  And no I did not make that cheesecake, it was way too good.

The birthday circuit

With Hailey in daycare, she has been getting quite a few invites to birthday parties.  We haven't been able to make it to most for various reasons.  Thankfully we were able to make it to Karolina's though.  This was back in March and was the Sunday before Hailey's last week at her old daycare.  We have since moved her from Stepping Stone to the Goddard School and LOVE IT.  That's a whole other story though.

Hailey was at Stepping Stone from the time she turned one until March.  Her and Karolina have been in the same class since day one.  This little girl is just precious.  She looks like a tea cup little girl.  She is so tiny.  It was very strange to see her walking and talking because she was so little.  Well it was her 2nd birthday.  They had it at My Gym.  Hailey had so much fun I'm thinking about having her 2nd birthday there too.

She LOVED the trampoline.

She also loved the balls.  So much so that when she noticed some from the ball pit were under the trampoline, she decided she had to get them.   I had to hold off other kids from jumping so they wouldn't squish her.
They had what they called a "roller coaster" which was this little plastic green car that they rode down a slight incline with tracks then up an angled mat.  She was in heaven.
This is the birthday girl!!! She was too cute.  She had a blast.

Loves books

Hailey loves books!!  She has a ton in her room that we read before bed time.  Occasionally she will wonder off by herself and we'll have to go look for her.  This is where I found her... she put her "pillow", the Boppy, in the chair herself too.

This was in late March.

Austin Botanical Garden

The Austin Botanical Garden was having some type of fair or something or other.  So a girl friend, Cherilyn, and I took Hailey, (she is pregnant too and due a week before me).  I thought this would be a perfect place for some cute pictures, right?  Well, kind of.  I swear there were more flowers on the side of the highway than there were at the BOTANICAL GARDEN!  Seriously!?!?!  We managed to round up a few flowers that were blooming and took a few pics.  Enjoy.

It got pretty hot so he sippy cup was in her hand the whole time!  Also on the pics below, Cherilyn has a realy nice camera and was taking pictures too.  Well Hailey kept saying "cheese" over and over again to where it was a rapid fire of "cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese etc."

Sleepy...

I went to check on Hailey one night before I went to bed... and this is what I found...
P.S. Don't pay attention to the Santa pj's in March.  They still fit so we're still wearin' 'em!

I imagine she thought the panda bear was her binki.  I couldn't resist taking a picture.

The Johnson's cont.

Hailey had her first 4-wheeler ride at The Johnson's, Collins and Janna.  Collins and Stephen went to high school together and he was in our wedding.  We love hanging out with them.  It doesn't hurt that Janna and I were only a few weeks apart when I was pregnant with Hailey.  I believe our due dates were 3 weeks apart but I was late and she was early so the kids, (Brady is there little one) are about two weeks apart in age.  (I have pictures from showers and what not but I have to dig them up).  Well, we're both pregnant again together!!!  She is due 3 weeks ahead of me this time.  Sorry, I digress...I wanted to show you a few pictures from the 4-wheeler day of them playing.

First 4-wheeler ride

Back in March, (almost caught up), we went over to some friend's of ours house.  They have close to 5 acres.  With these 5 acres, they have a 4-wheeler.  Stephen told me he was going to take Hailey for a ride.  The mere thought of this scarred me to death.  What if something happens?  What if she gets scared?  What if she falls off? What if, What if, What if.  Reluctantly, off they went.  Well, let me just tell you that she loved  it!!!  Their house is on a hill and has a pool in the backyard with a huge drop off.  Behind that is all the open area.  I went outside with my camera to take some pictures and could hear her squealing with delight.  So I asked Stephen to come closer so I could get a picture.  Look at that smile!!  She was waving so hard I thought she might fall off.
I am slowly learning that I can't protect her from everything and that sometimes you to take chances.  I know it may seem silly but I was really nervous!!  I'm glad I didn't stop her from enjoying her ride around the property with her daddy!!

Sesame Street Live

Back in February a very good friend of mine came in town with her family.  She has two boys.  Wyatt will be 3 in September and Weston will be 1 in September.  She came in town so we could take the "big" kids to Sesame Street Live!  This was my first experience as a mom doing something like this so I was a little nervous how Hailey would react to it.  She was just over a year and a half at the time.  Nothing to worry about though because she had a blast.  We had the best seats.  They were right in front of a railing that was completely covered and on the end of the row.  We were able to let the kids out of their chairs and run around, (you in know in the space that 4 seats take up).  Hailey did end up sitting with me for most of it because she wasn't big enough to keep the seat from folding up on her!!!  That was pretty funny.  At one point while the show was on, Wyatt started yelling "Zoe", which is one of the characters name's.  Then looked over to his mom, Kate, and said, "mom, I'll be right back" then proceeded to try and run down the stairs to get to the stage where Zoe was.  It was too cute.

At intermission, guess what they brought out... that's right... a million Elmo balloons front and center stage!!!  Thankfully we were able to distract the kids enough that we didn't have to fight the swarm of parents to get a balloon.  During the second half of the show, we got to watch all the poor suckers, I mean loving parents, try to shove their newly purchased Elmo balloon under the chair so the people behind them could still see.
We had to try some cotton candy.  Hailey preferred her graham cracker that we snuck in.
Wyatt however, was a BIG fan of the cotton candy.
