Milestones galore!!

Well little miss is growing up right under our nose. She is about 6.5 months old now and finally better. After being sick on and off since Christmas, the whole house is healthy. HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH!!! Sorry, but apparently babies don't sleep all too well when they're sick, which means I don't sleep all too well. Anyways, that's not why I'm here.

Milestones:
1) One of the most exciting is that she can now hold her bottle!!! Do you know how much time this saves in the morning? Ok, not a ton but it's still exciting.

2) Next, she's sitting up all by her self. Now she can play with all of her Christmas toys! We have had a topple over or two but nothing to warrant tears.
(Side note, pay no attention to the miss matching socks and outfit. It was was Sunday afternoon and this was not our first outfit of the day)!!

3) SHE HAS TEETH. That's right, she has her two bottom teeth or as I've heard them called "her reverse bunnies". These has been peeking through since the beginning of November. They just poked through last week. We found out when her Memaw, (Stephen's mom) was watching her. She called Stephen and said, "thanks for the warning". Well apparently she bit her! Oops! Sorry Memaw! Now this isn't the best picture but you'd never imagine how hard it is to snap a shot of bottom teeth. That pesky tongue!

4) Last but definitely not least, she's getting up on her knees and rocking. That means that she's about to be mobile, EK! We so haven't baby proofed anything yet. If you notice in the book almost out of the shot on the left, she wiggled her way over there to get it. She's a big fan of stripes on the tiger.

This one is just cause I think it's cute and I figured, while I'm here I might as well take advantage of it. Who knows when I'll get around to posting again.

Christmas, finally

I know it seems a little late to be talking about Christmas but I just wouldn't feel right skipping over it.

The week before Christmas started off with Hailey's first cold! The snot was a flowin'. She was the last one at her daycare (all five kids) that got sick. I never knew how frustrating it would be to take care of someone who couldn't blow their nose. It was the saddest thing ever. Just as we were getting ready to head to big D for our holiday festivities, Stephen and I caught it too. : ( All that aside we had a great time.

We started out on Christmas Eve at my Mamaw's house. It's always so much fun going over there. My brother and I have a ton of cousins who all have wonderful family's of their own which makes for a bunch of kids. I can't wait until next year when she can play!!!

After Mamaw's we headed to my mom's house. This is where Hailey spent her very first Christmas Eve night. I found the cutest pjs that had a matching hat! Gotta love a hat. When I was kid I had a very similar hat that I wore on several Christmas Eve nights. I'll see if I can dig a picture.

Santa did find us in Dallas. Since Hailey was the only kid around and since she wont' remember this year, Santa only brought a few things. She did seem quite happy about what she did get though.
After we opened Santa presents and had a wonderful breakfast, we headed to Taylor and Julie's for two more Christmas's. Whew! It was a busy few days. Anyways, we had a great time over there. It's so much fun to see my niece and nephews. They crack me up.

To close the weekend out, we went to visit my grandmother who turned 100 years old last June. She had a blast with Hailey. Her vision isn't the best so she has a ton of singing stuffed animals that everyone over the years has given her. Well she showed everyone of them to Hailey. I'm so glad we got some good pictures of them. My grandmother never smiles in pictures but since she can't see, she doesn't know that you're about to take one. We've been able to take advantage of that and get lots of good pictures of her smiling.
