Hailey's 1st birthday party, finally

For Hailey's 1st birthday party, we had a big shin-dig at our house. Since it was smack dab in the middle of the summer, we have a few kiddy pools and canopies in the back yard.

Hailey and her cousin, Luke.

Look at that little girls, hat!!! Isn't that the cutest thing ever!!

We had her party from 12:00 - 2:00 and had just switched her daycares (which meant she went from two naps to one) the Monday before her party. By the time we got to cake, we was exhausted. You can kind of tell by the look on her face that she could care less about what was going on. Also, notice the candle lit and the chunk of icing gone... we weren't quite fast enough.

And she's done... She went and took a nice good long nap right after she was all cleaned up.

You see the amount of people in this picture! I don't blame her for needing some quite time.

She did make out like a bandit, though. It is nice that her birthday and Christmas are 6 months apart!!

No more snuggles...

After reading my cousin's amazing blog, I thought of a story that I needed to share.

At Hailey's new day care they teach them sign language. One of the signs she's learned is "please".

Every night before bed I would take Hailey into her room and rock her for just a few minutes so I could get some good snuggle time in. Well... the other night I went in to rock her in her chair which is right by her bed. She was all but jumping out of my arms reaching for her bed and signing "please". : ( How could I argue with that?? It broke my heart. That was one of my favorite times of the day!! So now I'll carry her in there and squeeze her and bounce her in my arms before I put her to bed.

Thankfully she does still snuggle, it's just not like it use to be.
