Funny faces

Everyone has a funny face that they make every now and then. Well, Hailey has a funny face when she's concentrating. She puckers her lips and crinkles her forehead. It cracks me up to watch her. She is so much fun.

Thanksgiving

Since Stephen and I's families are in different cities, we decided a while ago to spend Thanksgiving in one city and Christmas in the other. This year we were in Austin (we're on the same schedule as UT; when they play at home, we're at home) for turkey day.

We spent the day at Stephen's parents house. We had a huge meal and ate way too much. It was great!!! Danielle was there, also known as Aunt Dani, as well as Stephen's Aunt, Uncle and cousin. Lani, (Stephen's sister) and her kids all had a stomach bug and weren't able to make it. : (

Growing fast

Little miss, had her 4 month appointment today, (she's 4.5 months, but what's a few extra weeks). She did so good. She only cried when they actually stuck her with the neddle. Thankfully her chunky monkey thighs acted as a great shock absorber! There was another little girl there that I could hear screaming from the parking lot. She was having blood work done. Hope everything is ok.

Anyways, Hailey weighs 14lbs and is 25 inches long. She's growing up so fast.

• She has her bottom two teeth coming in!!
• She laughs now, not the belly laugh though. I can't WAIT for the belly laugh.
• She's eating cereal.
• She's sleeping through most nights.

She's turning into a little person. I knew this was going to happen and I've heard how fast they grow up but I never grasped how fast until it happened to me.

Pink bunny

Well here I am, almost two months after my last post! Whew. A lot has happened since then.

Hailey is HUGE now. Or least she is to me.

We had (and by "we" I mean Stephen and I) had a great time dressing her up as pink bunny rabbit.

I have to brag for a second because that picture won her the cutest kid costume contest at work!!! She was such a good sport about us dressing her up too. We dressed her up on Halloween and handed out candy.

Busy, busy

So this whole blogging thing doesn't seem to be working too well for me. I'm averaging one post a month. Not too good if you ask me. What's a girl to do though? New baby and just started back to work last week. Everything is going well. The night before I was to start my first day back after two months off (man that was nice) little miss Hailey woke up four times!!! That made for an interesting day. She's on a pretty good routine now so I feel very fortunate. She only wakes up once in the middle of the night and isn't up for long. I almost feel guilty when people ask then scowl because their 2 year old wakes up more than that, Ouch! Sucks for them. She has been a great baby. Not sure if I think that because I have mommy goggles on and think that my child can do no wrong (she can't speak or walk yet, give it time) or what. Oh well. I'm going to enjoy this while I can.

All that said, I am going to do my best to post something a little more often. That probably won't happen until October though as I have a HUGE project at work that will be over, for the most part, after the first weekend.

Milestone Alert!!!

One of the greatest things has happened this week. Our beautiful little girl has started to smile. It's the cutest thing ever. It does take a little manipulation, a little check rubbing and a few goo goo gaa gaa's, but it's still the cutest smile I've ever seen. :) I'll try to get a picture of it as soon as I can and post it.

Everyone says that they grow up so fast and I never realized just how fast that was until now. Last time we went to the doctor, (about a week and a half ago) she weighed 8lbs 10oz. She's started to fit into some of her clothes and out grow other ones. Looks like we're going to have to have a fashion show here pretty soon to make sure she gets to wear all the adorable clothes that everyone got her.

On another note, we've started giving her bottles since I'll be heading back to work in two weeks : ( Look at this adorable picture of her holding her bottle. She only held in for a handful of seconds but it was still pretty cool.

First Post...

Hello all. I'm new at this whole blog thing so bare with me while I figure this out.

I decided since 95% of our family does not live in the best city Texas, Austin, I would start a blog so everyone can keep up with the new edition.

So far everything has been pretty easy! I really can't complain about much. Today is Miss Hailey's two week birthday. She was born on July 10, 2008 at 8:34pm, weighing in at 6lbs 12oz. When we left the hospital she was down to 6lbs 5oz but not for long. Her first doctor's appointment was when she was 5 days old and she was back up to her birth weight. Apparently that's a good thing. The doctor said it can take up to 2 weeks for some babies to get back to their birth weight. Yeah Hailey!!! Her next appointment was 4 days later and she was up to 7lbs 5oz!!! The kid gained 9oz in 4 days. Let's just say she has a healthy appetite.
