Me, a girly girl?

I have never been a girly girl.  In fact as far back as kindergarten, my mother had a hard time getting me to wear dresses.  When my niece was born almost 12 years ago, OMG 12 years, I told my mother that she must be so excited to finally get the little girl she's always wanted. As I've gotten older I've accepted and enjoyed becoming a little more feminine however I would still never use the word girly.  I just knew that it would be my fate to have girls, check, and have girly girls at that, check.  When I was pregnant with Hailey my girlfriends would buy uber girly stuff for her, frilly, lacy, and pink.  I told them to stop because I would not put her in it!  I never bought anything pink.  The girls rooms are green and purple.  I could go on and on but I think you get the idea.  Of course Hailey is all girl.  She LOVES pink and purple.  She loves dresses and tutu's.  I don't know what the reason is but I'm starting to enjoy all of it too!!  So when my mom came to visit at the end of February she brought Hannah the biggest most obnoxious hat or so I originally thought.  Until I put it on her!!!  I love it!!!  g

5 month pictures

I guess I didn't want to admit that Hannah was getting so big so fast.  The onsie she's wearing...yeah, it's a 3 month onsie and comes up to her elbows!!!  Sorry sweet girl!

It snowed in Austin!!! 2.4.11

It actually snowed in Austin.  It was crazy.  I grew up in Dallas and it only snowed a handful of times while I lived there but I can only count one hand how many times in close to 15 years that it's snowed in Central Texas.  Of course this happened the same week that Stephen was out of town all week for training AND both girls and I had croup!!!  Good times, let me just tell ya.  Thank God my mother-in-law was able to come help.  Hannah still wasn't sleeping through the night so I wasn't able to get to rest so I could get over the funk.  Hannah had to do breathing treatments!  It was just no fun but we made it through it.  The day it snowed was a Friday which worked out great cause I got a three day weekend.  We never had to leave the house.

Once I laid Hannah down for her morning nap, I asked Hailey if she wanted to go see the snow.  She was all excited.  We bundled up and out to the back yard we went.  Well, once we got out there...she was less than impressed.  She just stood there and stared.  She wanted nothing to do with the snow.  After, oh maybe a minute or two, she asked if we could go back inside.  It made me a little sad since who knows when the next time this will happen again in Austin but oh well.
This picture was taken earlier that week on I think the only day the girls went to school.
Hannah getting a breathing treatment.  Doesn't this just break your heart!!!  I know a lot of people who own nebulizers because their kids need breathing treatments all the time but this was a 1st for us AND Daddy was out of town.  Thankfully, Hailey has never had to use one before.

Sweet face 12.20.2010

Dallas Family Christmas

The weekend before Christmas we went to Dallas to see all my cousins and their families.  I hadn't seen most of them since Hailey's 1st Christmas!!!!  Way too long.  We loaded up and headed north to my cousin's house.  As soon as we got there Hannah started screaming  and did not stop for right at an hour straight.  I don't recall if I've shared this or not but one of the many reasons why I'm so far behind on posting is because we had a rough first couple of months.  Hannah would not go to sleep without putting up the biggest fight.  She would scream like someone broke her arm.  I was about the only one that could calm her down and it still took me a while to do so.  She had to be bounced a certain way and you could not sit down with her, had to keep moving.  Well this night was reminiscent of that.  Needless to say, it was a hectic evening.  She finally crashed out but I was on pins and needles hoping she wouldn't wake up screaming again.  Despite that little hiccup, we had a great time.  It was so good to see everyone and all the kids.  All of my cousins have kiddos ranging from a teenager, (just one right now but very close to more) to Hannah who was a few months old.  I didn't get any pictures from there!!!  Thankfully there are pictures, I just don't have access to them at the present moment.

From there we went to my brother and sister-in-laws house to stay the rest of weekend. As always we had a great time.  We opened presents and had our Christmas then but I can't seem to find those pictures either...I know I took some... that makes me sad.  Oh well, here are a few to tied you over.

Halloween

Hailey was Abby Cadabby for Halloween this year, (2010).  One thing I love about our neighborhood is that they really do a lot for the kids.  Every year they have a big block party at one of the cul-de-sacs.  They have hot dogs, chips, drinks and a costume contest.  I didn't get any pictures while we were there, not really sure why, not we didn't.  There was a little girl dresses up like the old man from Up, house with balloons, walker and all!  It was great.

Headed to the party!

Hailey's best friend Olive and her parents met us there.  Olive was Tinkerbell.

My sweet pumpkin!!!

Saying goodbye after a great night!

Pumpkin painting and torture by pumpkin

This year we let Hailey paint her pumpkins.  We set her up outside on a gorgeous afternoon.

While Hailey was painting her pumpkins...I decided to try and copy an adorable photo I saw of a baby in a pumpkin.  I cut the top off the pumpkin and scooped all the guts out.  I was ready to go!  Since Hannah was still so little, I needed Stephen's help holding her head up.  I guess the baby in the picture I saw was a tad bit older.  As we put Hannah in the pumpkin, she started to wail.  Stephen couldn't stand hearing her cry for long and thought I was being mean.  I disagree!!  A picture is worth a 1000 words...
Look at that sweet little face!!!

After the pumpkin shoots, I took Hannah inside to clean the pumpkin off of her.  See, she doesn't seem to mind that she was just tortured by a pumpkin.

1st playdate for Hannah

A very good friend of mine had her 1st baby the day after Hannah was born.  Since they were born so close together, neither one of us were able to see the other while we were in the hospital.  So we had Cherilyn and little Alexa over for our 1st playdate and meeting.  They are soooo cute!!! I'm excited to watch these two cuties grow up together!!

This picture just makes me laugh so I thought I'd share.

So tiny!!!

Real life Benjamin Button - 1 month photo shoot

Each month I am taking a picture of Hannah with the frog that Hailey picked out for her while I was pregnant.  Well this is her 1 month photo shoot only, she looks like she's an 80 year man.  Most babies lose their hair when they're little and have bald spots...however my sweet little princess lost the hair on the TOP of her head!!!  She looks like a little old man!

1st walk 9.27.10

This was our first walk.  I'm sure it was a beautiful day.  I mean, it looks awfully sunny in the picture.
I guess when you wait 5 months to post about it...the details get a little fuzzy. : )

Sleeping beauty- (late Sept.)

She was still itty bitty here.  I can't believe how much she has changed since these were taken.
